One of the reasons I have stopped blogging regularly about Venezuela is that everything that I felt I needed to expose I have already. Be it Eva Golinger lies about tax status, credentials or relations with the Chavez regime, the non existence of records of Chavez's favorite pollsters, the evident conflict of interests between Smartmatic and the Venezuelan government, or the family links that unite peddlers of baseless allegations and the regime led by the putschist, I feel I have done my share.
In the past few days I have noticed an increased amount of visits to one of my websites from the Philippines. So I got curious and investigated a bit further about it, sadly to find out that the firm that has rigged elections for Chavez since 2004 in Venezuela, the firm whose acquisition of Sequoia Voting Systems in the USA was challenged on the basis of an electoral fiasco in Chicago, has been contracted, to the tune of $150 million, by the Filipino electoral watchdog to run elections in 2010.
Filipinos will soon find out the sort of democracy Hugo Chavez e-voting firm provides.

Cesar Flores, Smartmatic's spokesman admitted in an article in the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism (http://www.pcij.org/stories/2009/election-automation2.html) that Smartmatic accessed the transmission servers during a regional election in the Philippines in 2008 to unblock election results. Was this the same method used by Smartmatic in the February 2009 referendum in Venezuela where the Yes votes won lifting the term limits of President Hugo Chavez?

HI there, I don't know if you are aware of this, but I am one of the three people who basically uncovered the shell of network companies and conflict of interests behind Smartmatic. Our findings [http://www.vcrisis.com/index.php?content=letters/200508141135] led to a CFIUS investigation in the USA and the public disposal -that never was- of Sequoia Voting Systems by Smartmatic. Apart from that, as a Venezuelan, I can guarantee you that until Smartmatic comes out of the closet and declares who is really behind such unnecessarily convoluted ownership structure and, more importantly, allows independent parties to audit every single process of their e-voting platform, any electoral results announced by them is a sham, as it has been the case in Venezuela since 2004, the first election run by Smartmatic which was, demonstrably, rigged.
Thanks for the info.
Would you be able to investigate deeper into the incident in the Philippines last August 2008 where Smartmatic remotely accessed servers to change the results of the count?
I believe this was used as a testing ground before the Feb 2009 referendum in Venezuela.
