Venezuela's Corruption Exposed

Message to INFODIO readers: investigative journalism, which is what this site does, takes lots of time. Visiting media looking for a quick run down on Venezuela's gargantuan corruption, have the decency to at least cite the source when plagiarising this site's content without attribution (exhibit Reuters here and here, exhibit Bloomberg here, exhibit OCCRP here). To all readers, do the right thing, the honest thing: support independent investigative journalism, help us expose rampant corruption. Note added 28/06/2021: impostors are using INFODIO's former editor's full name, and a fake email address (alek.boyd.arregui at gmail.com) to send copyright infringement claims / take down requests to web hosting companies (exhibit Hostgator). The attempt is yet another effort paid by corrupt thugs to erase information about their criminal activities. Infodio.com has no issues with other websites / journalists using / posting information published here, so long as the source is properly cited.

When leaking information maintaining anonymity is of paramount importance. At INFODIO, we strive to guarantee to those who leak to us the highest possible level of protection. We have developed a platform to do just that, to ensure that communications to us can be done securely, even from Venezuela, where Internet Service Providers have decided to block access to this site. 

In order to protect both whistleblowers and us at INFODIO, InfodioLeaks can only be accessed through Tor. The Electronic Frontier Foundation explains what Tor does: "Using Tor can help you anonymize web browsing and publishing, instant messaging, IRC, SSH, and many other applications. The information you transmit is safer when you use Tor, because communications are bounced around a distributed network of servers, called onion routers. This provides anonymity, since the computer you’re communicating with will never see your IP address — only the IP address of the last Tor router that your communications traveled through."

Once Tor has been installed, open the Vidalia Tor Bundle and access the TorBrowser. It will run slowly because it is encrypting your connection to protect your anonymity. 

Once you have opened TorBrowser, go to InfodioLeaks at http://ymi7h25hgp3bj63v.onion

Once in InfodioLeaks you will see a page like the image above. Click on "Blow the whistle" and submit your information. We are not interested in your identity, but in the information you wish to provide. Make sure that leaks are never sent from your workplace, and be sure to write down the receipt number after you send your leak, because we will likely reply to your message, through InfodioLeaks, after we've taken a look at the material you have sent. Everything you send is encrypted and your anonymity is guaranteed.
