Alina Habba has been in the news lately for the incredibly expedite way in which she married Turham Mildon, a Turkish "entrepreneur" that had a bunch of "legitimate" businesses in Venezuela. Then, there's the accusation made against Ric Grenell, erstwhile confidant of Trump, whereby Habba and her Turkish delight alleged that Grenell pocketed a $6 million donation to the Kennedy Center. As reported elsewhere: "The 29 year old nepo-garch, Mildon, is an “advisor” to the President of Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and even holds a Congolese diplomatic passport." That's where the money Grenell allegedly took came from folks: Congo. But what truly makes Habba someone Kimberly Guilfoyle must really admire is the $50 million she got from Julio Herrera Velutini, to get him a pardon from her former boss.
Habba claims there's nothing fishy about getting a contract worth $50 million from a company registered yesterday. Unlike Katie Zacharia, Habba is a lawyer, used to advise Trump and all. She now wants the world to take her word for it. There's no conflict in transitioning from member of Trump's inner circle to selling access and pardons. Nah. Kimberly's dismissal was because she was crap at diplomacy, not because she tried to pull Habba's moves.
Julito, as he is affectionately known in Caracas, is the banker to local celebrities such as Francisco D'Agostino and Francisco Convit. As reported sometime ago:
OCIF's press release on the topic contains a startling claim regarding Herrera Velutini's operations, indicating that over $10 billion (not a typo) might have gone through Bancredito between October 2016 and December 2020. That, even for Venezuela, is a considerable amount. How much of it belongs to D'Agostino and Convit? How many other thugs used Herrera Velutini's Bancredito? Is the chavista regime itself a client?
Considering that D'Agostino and Convit are clients and both are partners of Alejandro Betancourt, it means that the Donald's favorite oil baron in the whole wide world is probably a client too. Before being hired by Julito, Habba ran due diligence checks as extreme and comprehensive as the ones Marco Rubio and Mauricio Claver Carone did on Betancourt.
The headline above could've also been "Alina Habba sells Trump's pardon for $50 million to Julio Herrera Velutini." Nothing to see here folks, is part of the new normal!
