Spain's anti corruption prosecutors Juan José Rosa Álvarez and José Grinda González presented criminal charges on July 4th against Nervis Villalobos and wife Milagros Torres, Javier Alvarado and wife Maria Consuelo Pardi and lover Cecirée Carolina Casanova, Luis Jesús Barrios Melean, Luis Carlos de León and wife Andreina Gámez Rodríguez, Julia Elba Van Den Brule, and Duro Felguera's executives Ángel Antonio del Valle Suárez and Juan Carlos Torres Inclán.
The indicted stand accused of setting up a bribe payment mechanism to grant a $1.5 billion contract to Duro Felguera, whereby Duro Felguera's Suárez and Torres Inclán made numerous bribe payments mainly to Villalobos, who then spread the bribes among his criminal associates.
As usual, in this type of operation, Rafael Ramirez ensured that the contract would be given to Duro Felguera. While the indictment claims that -as far as this operation went- Ramirez did not receive any payments, other criminal probes in Andorra and Portugal clearly show that Villalobos did in fact send his due to Ramirez.
Of note, the indictment claims that Villalobos' wife justified the bribes obtained from Duro Felguera with a copy of an equal bribe payment-based contract signed between her and Derwick Associates.
Spanish prosecutors are seeking jail time, millions of Euros worth of real estate acquired with illicit proceeds and hefty fines.
