Message to INFODIO readers: investigative journalism, which is what this site does, takes lots of time. Visiting media looking for a quick run down on Venezuela's gargantuan corruption, have the decency to at least cite the source when plagiarising this site's content without attribution (exhibit Reuters here and here, exhibit Bloomberg here, exhibit OCCRP here). To all readers, do the right thing, the honest thing: support independent investigative journalism, help us expose rampant corruption. Note added 28/06/2021: impostors are using this site's former editor's full name, and a fake email address (alek.boyd.arregui@gmail.com) to send copyright infringement claims / take down requests to web hosting companies (exhibit Hostgator). The attempt is yet another effort paid by corrupt thugs to erase information about their criminal activities. Infodio.com has no issues with other websites / journalists using / posting information published here, so long as the source is properly cited.

Jacob Rees-Mogg is Alejandro Betancourt's next door neighbour

A top official of Boris Johnson's government lives right next door to a tool of Vladimir Putin. The Rt Hon Jacob Rees-Mogg MP is described in official UK government pages as "The Right Honourable Jacob Rees-Mogg is the Leader of the House of Commons and Lord President of the Council. He was appointed as Lord President of the Council and Leader of the House of Commons on 23 July 2019." No explanation is needed for Leader of the House of Commons. However, Lord President of the Council might not be as clear to non-British readers: "Privy Council is simply the mechanism through which interdepartmental agreement is reached on those items of Government business which, for historical or other reasons, fall to Ministers as Privy Counsellors rather than as Departmental Ministers." The roles held by Rees-Mogg are some of the most critical of the UK government. Imagine our surprise when discovering that Alejandro Betancourt lives right next door...

This site has been dealing with yet another wave of spurious doxing claims. Betancourt isn’t very happy with the geolocation information that we posted on Twitter, which, again, was taken for a ride with baseless arguments with respect to posting "private media". However further corroboration, preferably official, was needed.

This site has consulted official records and has been able to determine that Leopoldo Alejandro Betancourt (aka Alejandro Betancourt) is the sole registered resident of 4 Cowley Street in London. Betancourt's next door neighbour is none other than Jacob William Rees-Mogg.

Coincidentally, Rees-Mogg has been in the news recently. Political Correspondent Peter Walker published "Jacob Rees-Mogg faces Commons inquiry over undeclared £6m loans" in The Guardian. Crucially, Walker's article makes the following reference: “The loans from 2018 were primarily taken out for the purchase and refurbishment of 7 Cowley Street as temporary cashflow measures. All loans have either been repaid with interest in accordance with HMRC rules or paid as dividends and taxed accordingly." [bold added] The probe into Rees-Mogg's undeclared loans was prompted after the Labour Party called for an investigation into Rees-Mogg's financial affairs.

Let it be reminded that Betancourt is not just some Venezuelan thug involved in gargantuan corruption, the type of which that allows letting mansions in the heart of Westminster for £1,000,000 a year. Betancourt is also an associate / partner of Boris Ivanov and Vladimir Anisimov. To those who don't follow Russian politics, latter would be Nikolay Patrushev's understudy. If it is still unclear, Patrushev is the head of Russia's Security Council since 2008.

Betancourt is directly involved in criminal activity in London. Three separate sources confirmed to this site on condition of anonymity that Francisco Convit (Betancourt's main partner and a U.S. Department of Justice fugitive) was behind illegal surveillance, break in, theft of laptops and threats of sexual abuse against this site's editor's children. Betancourt was au courant all along. Betancourt himself has issued direct threats to people in Venezuela, from his London mansion.

Now, colour us imaginative but, who is to say Rees-Mogg's conversations and movements aren't being monitored by Betancourt's Russian partners? How can it reasonably be explained that one of the leading figures of the British government lives next door to someone like Betancourt, or rather, that British intelligence / government does not find concerning that Betancourt and his mates are a wall away from the Lord President of the Privy Council?

Rees-Mogg's security people could not have missed Betancourt in the past. Cowley Street is tiny, and the guy's just too flashy, too conspicuous, can't help it owing to his Napoleon complex. It is a certainty that his FSB mates have visited, and perhaps even rubbed shoulders with British officials in house warming parties. Are the supposedly anti-Putin Tories happy with it?
