Venezuela has been producing incredible amounts of stories lately, about uprisings, arrangements with chavista officials, about Russian and American mercenaries, about meetings, about how Maduro has a plane waiting to leave with Cilia, about how billions of dollars looted from the country will be recovered by friends of Leopoldo and Guaidó, about military invasions, about the debt... There are parties that would like to see Guaido fail, so they have a chance to recoup some of the money. There are parties that are gearing up for years of litigation. There are parties that are courting thieving Boligarchs in the hope that a Guaidó administration will honour chavista debt... Among all this noise, I heard from different sources that White Oak Advisory had been tapped by chavismo to assist with restructuring plans. So I wrote them an email, and asked.
Spoke to Sebastian Espinosa just now, and he said that White Oak Advisory is "not at all" involved with Venezuela. That applies to both sides of the political divide.
Guess we can put this one to rest then.
