Via a very kind collaborator and Istanbul resident, this site has learned of yet another twist on the topic of gasoline and naphta Turkish imports destined to keep PDVSA running: Grupo IVEEX, the shell controlled by Miguel Silva Perez used in the two-month contract with MCC Petroleum, was sold for 10,000 Turkish lira to tourists-guide Erhan Kap about one month ago. Kap seems to have been involved with Silva Perez since shortly after initial registration of Grupo Iveex Insaat in Istanbul, in November 2018, as per Istanbul registry records.
As it turns out, Silva's Grupo Iveex Istanbul address is an apartment located in a back alley. Hardly the kind of address used by established and legitimate oil companies. Curiously, there's another "oil company" (ENPETROL) that shares address in same small building, and also has "expertise" in the Middle East, and claims ability to conduct "risky transactions."
Silva Perez and Erhan Kap follow each other on Instagram.
It appears Silva Perez used the Turkish shell for the contract with MCC Petroleum and disposed of it rapidly after. This site has seen an invoice dated 12 April 2019, from MCC Petroleum to Silva Perez's Grupo IVEEX, for $7,319,106.97. Amount due to be paid net in 45 days from invoice date into an MCC Petroleum account in Emirates NBD bank.
