UPDATE II: Curaçao, Panama, Venezuela, Antigua regulators take control of Victor Vargas' banks
UPDATED 13/09/2019 - 19/09/2019 - Last October, this site posted news about banking operations of Victor Vargas:
Message to INFODIO readers: investigative journalism, which is what this site does, takes lots of time. Visiting media looking for a quick run down on Venezuela's gargantuan corruption, have the decency to at least cite the source when plagiarising this site's content without attribution (exhibit Reuters here and here, exhibit Bloomberg here, exhibit OCCRP here). To all readers, do the right thing, the honest thing: support independent investigative journalism, help us expose rampant corruption. Note added 28/06/2021: impostors are using INFODIO's former editor's full name, and a fake email address (alek.boyd.arregui at gmail.com) to send copyright infringement claims / take down requests to web hosting companies (exhibit Hostgator). The attempt is yet another effort paid by corrupt thugs to erase information about their criminal activities. Infodio.com has no issues with other websites / journalists using / posting information published here, so long as the source is properly cited.

*UPDATED 10/09/2019 - 17:28 GMT | **12/09/2019 - 14:47 GMT - ***24/09/2019 - 12:16 GMT | Further to the -now permanent- suspension of my @alekboyd verified Twitter account, I would like to address some of the issues that have occurred thus far.
Reuters posted an "exclusive" yesterday about corruption in Brazil that's been in the public domain for a while. Just like Global Witness before, Reuters just translates criminal probes published in Portuguese by Brazilian prosecutors, and then adds the sensationalist breaking news bit.
Spanish news outlet ABC posted about connection between Wilmer Ruperti, Hugo Carvajal, and disgraced judge Baltasar Garzón. This is not the first instance where Ruperti's largesse -when it comes to covering legal expenses of chavista criminals- has been shown. Ruperti paid for Nicolas Maduro and Cilia Flores' narco-nephews.
An interesting turn of events re Danilo Diazgranados.
Didn't even take 24 hours for somebody to register https://twitter.com/Alek_Boyd_, and make a bunch of fake claims about me, this website, and my alleged actions to recover my Twitter account. I reiterate that I have decided not to seek Twitter's pardon, I will not be begging for a reactivation of my verified account, and I am waiting for Twitter's reply re my data, accumulated there since 2009.
If I hadn't been online before 2006, I would probably comply.
Finally, a major outlet picked up on Burford Capital's other dodgy business, that of its head of "global corporate intelligence, asset tracing and enforcement business" Daniel Hall.
